How to Incorporate Cannabis in Your Nighttime Routine

After a long day at work, it can be hard to unwind from the day. Deadlines, meetings, appointments, and never-ending to-do lists keep our minds active and on alert throughout the day, so when night comes, it can be difficult to switch our brains off and get any rest. Implementing a consistent night routine is a great way to signal to the body that it’s time to wind down and go to bed.

Cannabis has been well-known to help with sleep due to its calming properties and can make for a great addition to your night routine. Incorporating cannabis into your routine can help ensure your body gets enough sleep each night so that you’re able to show up as your best self the next day.

Smoking or consuming gummies made with cannabis are two of the most obvious ways of using cannabis; however, there are many different ways to incorporate cannabis in your night routine. Let’s look at a few!

Skin Care

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid compound from the cannabis plant that has gained popularity in recent years. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, using CBD in skincare products, like face creams and oils, can be soothing for the skin. CBD skincare products have also been shown to help treat acne, dryness, and signs of aging.

Not only does implementing a consistent skincare routine benefit your skin, but it’s also a calming ritual that helps signal to the body that it’s time to sleep. Taking a bit of time out of your day to take care of yourself and your skin will leave you feeling relaxed before getting into bed for the night.

Body Care

Massaging your body to loosen tense muscles is already a great way to stimulate the nervous system and relax the body. Doing so with CBD body oil can provide even more benefits by helping to heighten relaxation and moisturize the skin.

Using CBD cream specifically can help with pain reduction and itchy skin. Creams will often be mixed with other ingredients like hemp seed oil and shea butter in order to create a moisturizing and nicely scented lotion. This nightly ritual will make falling asleep and getting quality sleep much easier.

Consuming Cannabis

Some people find that smoking or consuming cannabis before bed is beneficial for their sleep. If this is something you’re interested in, make sure to stick to indica strains as opposed to Sativa strains, as sativa is known to be more energizing.

A great way to consume cannabis before bed is through a cannabis-infused tea. Herbal teas, such as chamomile or lavender, are great for calming the body and inducing sleep. Adding a bit of cannabis and honey to a classic cup of tea will kick it up a notch and help you slip right into a great night’s sleep.

Smoking or consuming edibles can also be a beneficial sleep aid for some users. While cannabis will react differently with each person, it is generally recommended to ingest the cannabis at least an hour before you plan to go to sleep to give it enough time for the effects to kick in.
