Louisa Rix is a former actress and interior designer. She is the daughter of popular actor-manager, the late Brian Rix and late Scottish actress Elspet Gray.
Childhood and Early Life: Louisa Rix
Louisa Rix was born on 2nd February, 1955. She has three siblings, with one being her elder sister Shelly and the other two being her brothers, Jamie and Jonathan. Jamie is a children’s author and producer, having produced television programs like My Hero. Jonathan is a professor of Participation and Learning Support at the Open University. Louisa Rix’s elder sister Shelley was diagnosed with Down Syndrome, and taking care of her prompted their parents to spend their life campaigning and bringing awareness to the condition. Shelley unfortunately passed away in July 2005 at the age of 53.
Louisa Rix’s early introduction towards theatrical acting happened at the Nottingham Playhouse, under the guidance of Richard Eyre as the artistic director, followed by Peter Cheeseman’s company called Stokes-on-Trent. Before she went on to study drama, she had attended art school, which also made her passionate towards art and designing.
Career: Louisa Rix
Louisa started off her career as a theatre actress, working in many popular dramas and plays at established theatres. Some of her earlier West End appearences have been in How The Other Half Loved and Man of the Moment by Alan Ayckbourn, Whose Life Is It by Brian Clark, The Pocket Dream by Elly Brewer and several other productions at the National Theatre.
Louisa Rix is also a popular television actress and has done several shows. She is popular for the playing the character of Mrs Patterson, Kevin’s mom in the series Harry Enfield and Chums, and also in Kevin and Perry Go Large. Rix appeared in the show Made in Heaven, which was produced by Granada Television and in which she starred alongside Tim Bentinck. She also appeared in the show Colin’s Sandwich, where she played the character of Mel Smith’s girlfriend, also starring in two series of Side by Side, and she both of these for BBC Network. She co-starred with Anna Friel as the solicitor who represented the Jordache Family in the show Brookside. Considering how she has retired from acting, one of her final roles was in Execution of Gary Glitter, where she played the character of Home Secretary.

Louisa Rix had gone to art school before she started pushing drama, and her passion for art made her retire from acting and pursue interior designing. She currently owns the interior design company Forbes Rix Design, which was established in 2012, with her business partner Natalie Forbes.
Personal Life
Louisa Rix was married twice. Her first marriage was with British actor Jonathan Coy, which happened in 1980. Their marriage lasted for a very short time, and the couple for divorced in 1990. They had two children, Charlotte and Jolyon Coy. Charlotte is married to British film, threatre, television and voice actor Tom Mison, while Jolyon is married to Blanche Schofield, who is the daughter of David Schofield and Lally Percy. Louisa is now married to writer Richard Ommany, and they got married in 1994.
