7 TV Feel-Good Shows That Will Uplift Your Mood

Comfort food is not the only thing that beats the blues. Some of us have our special comfort TV shows that can change our mood in a snap. The names include Friends, A.P. Bio and The Seinfeld show, and many others.  

When you have one of the Cox cable deals, you do have the liberty to watch whatever’s on TV. But sometimes, you need something uplifting and a watching casual comedy show proves to be the best remedy.

The positive attitude of Leslie Knope trying to help Ann, a local nurse convert a construction site into a community park while dealing with red-tapism is something you would really enjoy.

3: Brooklyn Nine-Nine

This show is about to hit its season finale and it’s one of the most recommended comedies of all time. It’s not on Netflix, though but you can catch it on Hulu.

Raymond Holt is assigned as a commanding officer for the 99th precinct in Brooklyn, New York City. The episodes are full of sarcasm. The series has addressed issues such as police brutality while maintaining the comedic style.

4: Black-ish

Black-ish revolves around the efforts of a man trying to get his family to mingle with neighbors to establish a sense of cultural identity for his family.

The show has done a brilliant job in making the audience laugh while tracking difficult subjects like police brutality and divorce.

5: The Mindy Project

This romantic comedy series stars Mindy Kaling as Mindy Lahiri a successful OB-GYN with a great career but not-so-good love life. You will see Mindy wearing some outlandish prints. She tries to romantic life back on track with the help of her offbeat colleagues. Her funny interactions with others are going to make you glued to your screen.

6: 30 Rock

This show is one of Tina Fey’s gems with it comes to entertainment. It’s created and produced by Fey herself who is also the show’s lead Liz Lemon.

The series is based on Liz’s time as a cast member and writer SNL. She struggles to deal with her egotistical boss and the maniacal stars. But the show must go on, without Liz losing her mind. The jokes are thrown at the audience so fast. You might have to rewind multiple times to catch the punchlines.

7: Atypical 

This Netflix show is basically a family sitcom revolving around a teen boy named Sam who is on the autism spectrum. He decides he’s ready for romance but to find love, he will have to be more independent. This allows his mother to take a life-changing path as well.

Now, Sam’s family will have to seek a better understanding of him and adjust to change. The show claims to be a sitcom but it has several moments of drama and heartbreak. It’s a show everyone should watch because it addresses the concept of dealing with stress and anxiety.

8: Firefly Lane

The show is an earnest tale of 2 lifelong besties starring Katherine Heigl as Tully and Sarah Chalke as Kate. It’s a story of women who are bonded for life.

The two support one other through thick and thin. They have got an indestructible bond that carries them from their teens to their forties. You might want to grab a tissue while watching this show. People had mixed opinions about this show so don’t rely on the reviews too much. As the story progresses, the show becomes even more gripping. So, hold on till the end.
