We’re now past the halfway point in the NFL regular season, and it’s beginning to become clearer which sides are likely to challenge in the postseason play-offs. Of course, the glittering prize at the end of all this is Super Bowl LVI, which takes place on Sunday 13th February.
Every team will be doing their utmost to lift the prestigious Vince Lombardi Trophy, but there are a few sides who have particularly caught the eye so far this season. Let’s take a look at a few of the in-form sides who are dominating the NFL odds from Paddy Power at this stage of the campaign.
Arizona Cardinals
It’s fair to say that not much was expected of the Arizona Cardinals at the beginning of the campaign, but Kliff Kingsbury’s side have enjoyed an explosive start, and boast a record of eight wins and two losses.
Seven consecutive wins kicked off the regular season in fine style, with victories coming against the Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans. Any hope of an unbeaten campaign was dashed when the Green Bay Packers narrowly got the better of the Cardinals, but they bounced back in fine style with another win against the 49ers.
Tennessee Titans
Despite losing to the Arizona Cardinals on the opening weekend of the season, the Tennessee Titans have been in sensational form, winning eight and losing two of their ten games so far. There have been some dramatic contests within that, and the Titans have proved their mettle to win a number of close ones.
The franchise narrowly missed out on appearing in Super Bowl LIV when they lost to eventual champions the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020, and they could fare no better than the wild-card round of the play-offs last season. Could this be their year to go all the way?
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers have an identical record to the Titans, and they’ll have their eyes on a fifth Super Bowl crown. Despite controversy over star quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ vaccination status, the Packers have been a force to be reckoned with on the field. For one, they’re the only side to have defeated the aforementioned Cardinals, and that suggests this team has the potential to go a long way.
It’s been over a decade since the Packers lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and there is a real hunger in Green Bay to achieve success this year.
Los Angeles Rams
The LA Rams are still waiting for their first Super Bowl since returning to the Californian city, having lost in the 2019 showpiece to the New England Patriots. They’ve been a strong outfit for the past few seasons, and they may well view this season as a chance to finally get their hands on the Championship title.
A strong record of seven wins and two losses so far suggests that they have the wherewithal to go far, and although they lost to the Titans on their last outing, there is a lot of belief in the City of Angels.
