Things to do Before Planning a Pool Party in Your Home

If you own a pool, you’ve probably thrown a pool party. Before inviting visitors and guests to swim in your home’s pool, there are many things to think about, but it may be a great way to bring friends and family together for pleasure. You undoubtedly want to make a good impression, which includes inviting them for a dip in a clean, attractive pool.

To make sure that the pool party goes as planned, you should consider ensuring that the following tasks are completed. They are easy to work through.

1. Get the Pool Cleaned

Don’t wait till the day of your party to examine the chemical levels in your pool. Since you’ll have more swimmers in the water, you want to make sure the chlorine levels are on the high side of optimum. When this equilibrium is out of whack, people may smell the pool or experience bloodshot eyes when swimming.  Make absolutely sure the pH, alkalinity, and chlorine levels are ideal for your event and be aware that once treated, the water takes a day or so to settle in. Contact your pool service company at least a week in advance to secure service for your event. Give the pool time to settle before being used.

Treat your visitors to a dazzling, clean pool! No one wants to go swimming in algae-covered water. Additionally, a dirty pool poses a health risk and may be the reason for a slip, fall, or other accident on the day of your pool party. Before inviting visitors over for a swim, get your pool fully serviced and cleaned to prevent accidents and crises.

You should also ensure that the water control is working well. If not, get everything fixed. Investing in a top pex pipe will ensure that your pool party is not interrupted by any control issues.  For more updates, visit: https://streeetjack.com/

2. Work on Security

Review pool safety concerns before inviting friends over to your house. For instance, be careful to clear any hazards or fall hazards from the pool’s border and be sure to limit access for small children or animals as necessary. Encourage guests to stroll rather than sprint close to the pool, and if you have a fire pit or outdoor fireplace, make sure you have a fire extinguisher nearby. Try using a runner rug or other treads for guests who could have wet feet during your party because it might be slippery near pools.

The most crucial aspect of pool safety is having a designated water watcher present at all times when there are kids around. This adult should wear a badge with a tangible Water Watcher Tag on it. This person should not be harassed, spoken to, or distracted, according to the tag. They have 20 minutes to keep an eye on the pool without checking their phones and to ensure the safety of the swimmers. The task should be rotated to another sober adult after 20-30 minutes.

3. Organize the Seating Area

If you are planning your pool party on a hot summer evening, think about your seating arrangements and be sure to offer a place in the shade for visitors who need to escape the sun. For those who prefer to relax by the pool in the shade, umbrellas and even tents are ideal. For visitors who will be spending time outdoors in the heat, make sure they have access to plenty of water and other refreshments to keep them from being dehydrated. Think about providing ice and bottled water in buckets for guests to help themselves. Placed low to the ground and away from foot activity, oscillating fans will help keep outdoor living spaces cool and the air moving.

4. Get Refreshments Ready

You do not want your guests to be hungry or thirsty during your party. Get a variety of refreshments and food for your guests. You should also watch out for your guests’ allergies to avoid turning your party into a medical emergency.

Since the party will take place on a hot day, you should ensure that the food is placed on some ice to keep it cool and the drinks refreshing.

The Bottom Line

Nobody hates to think about it, but even the best-laid plans can go astray. Make sure you have a backup plan in case the weather or another problem throws your party plans for a loop. Make sure that your guests will not be left stranded in case something goes wrong. You should prepare for any other mishap that may happen and ensure that your guests will be happy. Good Luck!
